OCCUPY STUDENT DEBT

Student debtor stories submitted by the 99%

I have an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degree. I do not have any student loan debt. I went to a state school. I am LUCKY that my parents were able to help me out either by paying my tuition or letting me live with them. I have spent several years after college unemployed and struggling to survive with growing high-interest credit card debt. One day I would like to go to grad school. The idea of drowning in debt does not appeal to me, so I put off my dreams. We need reform to these laws. A higher education should be a right—not a privilege.

In solidarity with those fellow knowledge seekers who have student loan debt.
