Told I was doing it right

Sorry, no photo, no camera.

Original Balance: $72,000 (about)

Currently owe: $99,500 (about)

Be paying ontime now for 15 months. $1000 a month. I’ve been making it work, I am lucky (so far). I do not want my loans to be forgiven or for the university to not be paid. I signed the line.

What I do want:

1. Honest financial counseling, especially for first time/first person in college from a family.

2. Some kind of cap/control of the interest rates. The gouging that goes on is disgusting.

3. For society to understand, accept and promote that not eveyone must go to a four year college to find a successful and fulfilling life.

4. For the academic “worth” of a school’s education to be more easily known. If its a teaching college, do they certify? What is a university’s job placement rate? What is a university’s % of tuition paid from loan-free sources? What is the average salary of a gradaute.

5. For lending honesty and financial advisement to be taking into consideration when it is evaluated by its National Accrediting body.

6. For the lending company’s to get a “grade” in such areas as customer service and sustainability in lending (what is the percentage of defaults etc). We should be learning from the housing and credit crisis not turning our heads in shame.
