A Nurse’s Regret

Today has been very challenging. I have roughly $90,000 in student loans, primarily private loans. I went to a private 4 year university and now 4 years after graduation I’m kicking myself in the rear. My mom really pushed me to go there but I should have listened to my father. I was under the impression getting an education from a renowned college would help you get somewhere or better pay but in the end it doesn’t really matter to employers. My debt to income ratio is outrageous. I have been trying to apply for a government program for nurses that help repay a specific amount of money for a time commitment at specific facilities. I have spent hours today trying to apply online and when I called to get help, I waited on the phone 45 min with no answer. I am frustrated to my wits end with loan repayments. I “supposedly” have a good job and career but still barely can make my payments of about $900 a month in just loans. I have given up on owning a house or having children…who really can afford either…
